Satyam Computer Services is preparing a vast talent-pool of engineers to tap opportunities in the high-end engineering services segment. This is part of its strategy to move up the value chain and bolster revenues.
It has launched a programme — Satyam Entry-level Engineering Development (SEED) — to train about 600-800 engineers a year. It has already partnered with IISc-Bangalore, IIT-Chennai and the Central Institute of Tool Design to design curriculum in areas such as aerospace mechanical and designing. Besides, it is in talks with international universities in the US and UK for designing quality improvement programmes in areas such as structures, hydraulics, design for six sigma, finite element analysis and manufacturing engineering.
